I for one had a great time but ended up leaving ~2:30am sunday. I just want to put a big thankyou out there to ALL the admins from here that helped make it happen especially LEGIONX who LAN after LAN is there for hours watching over the console comps, thanks for all your hard work

Thanks for the thanks But really, the vast majority of the admins should be thanked for an event that threw up many challenges to them on the day. I think the average level of sleep for admins was about 4hrs over the entire event. I hope those of you that attended had fun!

Did a little bit of setup
I didn't game, didn't leech all i did was help out and socialise. I had to leave at 2ish to deal with 2 separate personal problems.
So my lanning experience was meh,as many people saw i was becoming very bad tempered & angry from about 11 - 12 Saturday night.
Finally got home at 6am ish from what i remember and slept a little before work.
Missed pack up as well

Great lan, was dissapointed about the "no leeching before 1am" but understood very well why they had to do that. Played lots of games, got in some ut3,tf2 and won the Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance comp thanks to the help of Bucket Great lan, probably should have got some sleep during the lan, but I'm fine now 8/10

Showed up, got in, set up, chatted, helped out admins a little bit, "protected" court 4 doors with other admins due to "fire", watched admins deal with fuckheads not listening to them appropriately several times, socialised, watched the whole feds/Vyp3r situation unravel, socialised, watched the fireworks situation unravel, socialised, watched more lanners not listening to more admins, socialised, won all the WiC prizes, socialised, adminned IRC late afternoon till morning, then food run when admins woke up to Subway, ate, socialised, packed up, went home.
Did not leech and did barely any gaming. However, although it has yet to happen here, I have been pretty apalled with all the idiots complaining that the admins did a poor job. All of them bar one (Who I won't name but did a fucking appalling job of being extremely rude to lanners) did a fantastic job, in particular I saw some brilliant stuff from, The_Wookie, TheWedgie and arnie. Minus idiot lanners and somewhat bad competition/timetable handling, an absolute top notch LAN, definitely looking forward to the next Reloaded.
EDIT: Also was great fun watching these two chicks "dicktease" as hobo-jo put it on another forum, all the general lanning populace in IRC. I walked past them later in the night and they definitely weren't what I'd call attractive. Goes to show how sexually depraved some people are, hitting on girls in IRC at a LAN now. I was in there as Jake, not Adamantinus.

From what I read on the Reloaded forums there seemed an abundant amount of idiots in attendance. Smoking indoors for instance, ILLEGAL. I swear some people.

Haha yes, I witnessed a huge amount of idiocy. In no order: 1. People generally not listening to admins. 2. Someone running a DC hub after being requested politely on mic, IRC, website, to turn it off, then the row he was in was asked politely, then shouted at, then finally the row had to be disconnected and manually checked until the hub was eliminated. 3. Two guys set off a firecracker IN THE HALL, then denied it even after they were identified. 4. People smoking in the hall and being rude to admins when asked to put it out. 5. People drinking in the hall (This is just from word of mouth, cannot confirm this) 6. The issue with the feds. 7. People spamming IRC. 8. People running FTP scans/leeching when asked not to. 9. People stealing (Small incident) 10. People anonymously bitching and moaning after the LAN on the Reloaded forums about small shit. 11. Admin being rude. As for the "fire" it's an in joke between myself, Hell_Rok and two admins. There was actually nothing fire-related.

I saw some of this, although it looked to be in small amounts. Vodka in a coke bottle from what I overheard.

The hall is not a licensed venue you cannot drink alcoholic beverages there. Or something like that.

It would be illegal to drink inside the hall if it's unlicensed but you could drink in the car park if you wanted. Good luck getting back in though once security smells alcohol on your breath.

How are you going to get close enough for them to smell your breath? You realise they were only joking when they said it was 1 kiss per entry/exit right?

I had an awesome time. I got to : * sit next to 2 of my best mates all lan, actually, the were all around me * solve problems and fixing them * help people * catching up with people * witness the amazing support of sponsors * witness the amazing support of lanners * be part of a hard working team, even when some team members didnt care by not showing up, having other team members stretch to cover their role * have wookie make me lol with he usual antics * witness beyond amazing quality of gaming at a lan * indulge in art skills * make new friends
Good lan, thanks from me to everyone who was helpful, able to follow instructions and use their own common sense.
I think everyone involved should be proud of what they achieved, we had so many interstate competitors visit and compete. I managed to speak to most of them and each at the event and they were so happy to be there and shared my enthusiasm for the event and the competition.
Huge thanks to our sponsors, they were so awesome and helpful. Chatting to each of them though out the event, I was able to see how and why each of them wanted to support lanning in SA. Despite all the whinging going on at the moment, a lot of good things came out of this event and I was tremendously proud to be a part of it.
A big fuck off massive thank you to everyone who came, I hope to see you guys at the next Valhalla.
Oh, and the next time a lanner decides to jump on my computer after they have asked for help from me, and I asked you to wait while i walked 5 metres to get info from another admin, I will cry. Do you want to make a chick cry?

LOL! T_M there's a thread on OCAU that youngpro created regarding his Reloaded efforts (wish I had of been there to see this) http://forums.overclockers.com.au/showt ... p?t=646167 - Page 2 contains a link to a photo gallery created by Cellsplicer.

I would have thought the carpark is included as part of the venue. *shrug* -Nick

The feds were not there. SAPOL were called down after a lanner was found to have "questionable material" on their PC.

Guys - great LAN!!! Had lots of fun, made heaps of new friends as well as re-kindle older friendships. I cant say well done to all of you individually as there were to many of you. This includes lanners, I met lots of you guys (didn't throw out anyone either ) and can really see the passion you bring into an event like Reloaded. I welcome this passion to any event you go to - especially Valhalla. I know its easier at times just to stay home and LAN with fast DSL but the things you miss out on actually going to a LAN you cannot get at home playing games. I will say one thank you however, my friend Wookie. Thanks mate for a great event, I know how much work was put in over these many months. Thank you The event itself was generally busy for me and were thrown a few new challenges as well. There are a few people who make it difficult for Admins to either perform their job or even other lanners to enjoy the experience. I just hope they learn to "just play the game" and im sure they will have a better experience. We try very hard for no monetary reward (hell - we all even had to get our own tickets) - its purely to see people have a great time and have fun. What makes it all worth it is the odd person who will come up to you and say "Thanks mate - well done and had a great time". Thats all I need - it feeds me for more - simple! BTW - it was Pt Adelaide SAPOL there (as per LegionX post) - no FEDS - but they all look the same don't they Thanks all for a great time. I personally have learnt a lot this time around (been to all 3 as an admin) and will improve again at the next one . I also will be attending Valhalla going forward so hope to see a lot of you there cheers and play hard

was awesome meeting you lovely admin types for the first time in person..., wookie, aeth, Arnie, Legion X, Com El tho no formal intro was done... and others...
had a fun time , had issues but hey .. was more with the particular game admin at the time .. someone needs to show some admins on how to set up particualr servers so they can be playable..... and not try to tell me how a LAN server can be accesed via the net with no other software running to try and test it.. ...... esp if it is game they only played a couple of times and didn't like it....
all my other grips/ suggestions have been forwarded to wookie via email..
was my biggest lan so far, will try to make Valhallas but... only time wil tell if i can make it..
