With the external temperatures for this week forecast to be 37 degrees, we have decided to put the lan off to the following week. We unfortunately do not have access to the air conditioned areas of St Clair this coming weekend, and those of us who remember 40 degree lans do not remember them fondly Im sure. The new date for this event will be Saturday, March 6th (long range forecast is for 23 degrees) With that in mind: Tickets for this weekend will apply next weekend or at the April event. If you really require one, you can recieve a refund after the event is held. We apologise for the inconvenience but in the interests of health and safe lanning, I felt this was the responsible option. Ill also note that this announcement has gone out via email, facebook and steam.

Don't know if you care but the weather has now been altered. Max will be 30. That's good weather for a LAN.

the BOM originally forecast 37 degrees on Saturday, and while I would have gone to the lan anyway, its never fun being in enclosed space with a few hundred computers spewing even more heat.
For the December lan and reloaded, we were lucky the weather was so mild. during the summer Good weather means more lanners, which means a better event for all concerned, plus less strain on the equipment and lanners etc.

As my screenshot shows as late as this morning it was still forecast to be 37. Theres more to lan organisation than you guys seem to think. I spent hours yesterday notifying suppliers and attendees of the date change because i have a duty of care. Yes, Ill be more reluctant to change the date in future, but for this lan the date change will stay.
If you have bought a ticket and require a refund because you cant make march 6th, you can be refunded after the march 6th event.
And if you think 33 with showers is good weather, my friend humidity would like a word

It works in my favour as i have to pick my mrs up from the airport on that weekend, but perhaps some sort of standing condition where across the summer LAN's the date will be confirmed 48 before the LAN start.
I do realise this is a nice theory, arranging changes to venue, suppliers, staffing, etc at the last minute would never be called fun or easy.

March 6th mean Bad Company 2 will be relesed by then.
Possible to run a test comp for this as the game is being released in Aus March 4th.

Question: are tickets still available from the usual places, or am I better off asking on the forum if anyone has one they don't need.
Friend needs a ticket as he wasn't able to attend if it was last weekend, but can now its been moved.
